Attorney Hickey is a Harrisburg native with experience in criminal defense, juvenile law, business law, negotiating contract disputes, family law, and copyright law. He specializes in arbitration with insurance companies and auto accident injuries. Instead of immediately pursuing law school after earning his undergraduate degree from the Pennsylvania State University, he started his career working in the hospitality, service, car rental, and auto insurance industries. This gave him a more robust perspective of the law, thereby enabling him to be able to communicate with clients with more ease and explain complex legal matters in terms that can be understood.
During law school, Stephen worked full-time handling third-party injuries, as well as underinsured and uninsured motorist benefits for auto vehicles, motorcycles, and recreational vehicles. He was previously licensed in all 50 States as an inter-company arbitrator for insurance claims but is most versed and knowledgeable in Pennsylvania statutes, motor vehicle code, and case law.
Stephen has worked in criminal defense matters and litigated a variety of cases. His representation includes assault, breaking and entering, burglary, robbery, theft, sex crimes, forgery, grand theft auto, weapons charges, drug possession, PWIDs (Possession With Intent to Deliver), and DUIs (Driving Under the Influence). Stephen helps prep his clients for trial and maintains a unique approach with his tactics that have given him a win-record of over 85% and over 79% of charges in his cases being dropped. He has also negotiated multiple plea deals in the best interest of his clients, assisted music artists with copyrights, and negotiated the language of business contracts during disputes.
